1. General overview
By engaging AGL Construction Services Ltd (“the Company”, “we” or “us”), you (“the Client”) agree to these terms and conditions. They apply to all building work we carry out and to the use of our website, www.aglcs.co.uk (“the Website”).

Building work
2. Quotations and acceptance
- Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless the quotation states otherwise.
- A quotation sets out the scope of work, the materials and an estimated timeline. Any variation or addition requested by the Client must be agreed in writing and may incur additional charges.
- Written acceptance of a quotation, or payment of a deposit, by the Client signifies agreement to these terms and acceptance of the quotation.
3. Scope of work
- The Company will carry out the work specified in the accepted quotation or contract.
- Any alteration, or additional work outside the original scope, must be communicated and agreed in writing before that work begins. Changes may affect the timeline and the cost.
4. Payment terms
- Payment schedules will be set out in the contract, and both parties should keep to them.
- Any deposit required will be stated in the quotation and must be paid before work begins.
- Late payment may lead to the work being suspended. Outstanding balances may accrue interest at 5% a year above the Bank of England base rate.
5. Completion dates and delays
- The Company will make every effort to meet the agreed completion date. However, delays may occur because of circumstances beyond the Company's control, such as adverse weather, delays in the supply of materials or unforeseen issues on site.
- If this happens, the Company will tell the Client as soon as possible, and any revised completion date will be agreed between both parties.
6. Client responsibilities
The Client is responsible for:
- making sure the site is clear and accessible, so that work can start on the agreed date
- obtaining any necessary permissions, such as planning permission or building control approval, unless agreed otherwise
- securing and insuring the property where the work is carried out
7. Warranties and guarantees
- The Company guarantees its workmanship for 2 years from completion of the project. This does not cover third-party materials or products, which are subject to the manufacturer's warranty.
- Claims under the guarantee must be made in writing within the guarantee period.
8. Health and safety
- The Company follows strict health and safety regulations on all projects.
- The Client agrees to provide a safe working environment, and to make sure that other contractors or visitors do not interfere with the Company's work.
9. Termination of contract
- Either party may terminate the contract in writing if the other party breaches these terms.
- The Client may also terminate the contract at any time, but this may result in additional charges for work already completed or materials already purchased.
