Accessibility statement

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. This statement sets out what we have done, where the site falls short, and how to tell us about a problem.

Our aim

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement applies to the public pages of aglcs.co.uk.

What we have done

  • A “Skip to content” link is the first thing on every page, so keyboard and screen reader users can go straight to the main content.
  • Pages use headings to mark out their structure, so you can move through them by heading.
  • Every photograph must have a text alternative, and the site will not show a photograph without one.
  • The menu works with a keyboard, and without JavaScript.
  • Background video is decorative, silent and hidden from screen readers. If your device is set to reduce motion, the video is hidden and animations are switched off.
  • Layouts reflow to fit small screens and zoom up to 400%. Wide data tables scroll sideways within their own frame.
  • Text colours are checked for contrast. Our orange brand colour is too light for text on white, so text uses a darker shade of it.

Known limitations

  • The site has not yet been independently audited against WCAG 2.2.
  • The printable capability statement is a web page designed for printing, rather than a tagged PDF. If you need it in another format, contact us.
  • Background video starts automatically and has no pause button. It carries no information, and it is hidden if your device is set to reduce motion.
