AGL Construction Services is a principal contractor with over a decade of experience. We work closely with local councils and housing associations, and with businesses and homeowners, across Greater London. Our work runs from void refurbishment and planned works to commercial fit-out, extensions and loft conversions.
We are a member of a number of public-sector frameworks. These are formal agreements that simplify procurement, so a council or housing association can appoint us and get work started sooner. Our contracts team can tell you which frameworks your organisation can use.

How we work
Three principles apply to every project, whatever its size.
Collaboration and communication
We involve you from the first planning meeting to final handover, so we understand the requirements and constraints before work starts. Problems are raised early and dealt with openly.
Quality
Skilled tradespeople, good materials and site managers who check the work as it goes. We aim to finish on time, within budget and with as little disruption as possible. Our standard terms guarantee our workmanship for two years after completion.
Safety and sustainability
Safe, considerate sites come first. We plan each job to limit its environmental impact, and use eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient methods wherever possible.
One point of responsibility
You deal with one company, from the first conversation to handover.
AGL runs the programme and holds the accreditations. The work is carried out by our own directly employed tradespeople and site managers, with vetted specialists brought in where a project needs a particular trade. Specialists are inducted before they start, and our site managers supervise every trade on site, so one company answers for the whole job.
Our workforce is recruited locally, largely from Barnet and North London, where we are based.
We give back to the borough, too. We support Barnet Homes’ community and social causes with regular financial donations, and our teams carry out work for them free of charge. Read more about our social value.
Accreditations and training
AGL holds accreditations from several professional bodies, so our work is carried out safely and in line with current regulations.
Our accreditations include Gas Safe Register, NICEIC, Constructionline, Competent Roofer and CHAS Elite. Details are on our accreditations page.
All our staff hold the relevant Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. Our site managers and supervisors have completed the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
Training continues through inductions, toolbox talks and site inspections. An external health and safety consultancy audits our policies, practices and sites, alongside our own audits and risk assessments. Read more about how we manage health and safety.
