Commercial fit-out
Office, retail and hospitality fit-outs across London, planned around your trading hours: out-of-hours and phased working, one programme, one site manager.
A space that works as hard as you do
A tired office, a shop that no longer fits the brand or a restaurant that has lost its buzz costs you every day it stays that way. We fit out and refurbish offices, shops and hospitality venues across Greater London, from a single floor or unit to a full strip-out and rebuild. The result is a space that works for your team and looks right to your customers.
Built around your trading hours
Downtime is lost revenue, so we plan the works around how your business runs. Noisy and disruptive work can be done out of hours or at weekends, and larger projects can be phased so part of the premises keeps trading while we work. Work areas are screened off, kept clean and secure, and separated from your staff and customers.
From strip-out to the finishing touches
Our own trades cover most of a fit-out: strip-out, partitions and suspended ceilings, electrical, lighting and data, heating, ventilation and plumbing, washrooms, flooring, joinery and decoration. For offices that can mean a Cat A refurbishment between tenants or a Cat B fit-out for a new occupier, and for shops and restaurants, new shopfronts, counters, kitchens and dining rooms. Where a specialist is needed, we vet, induct and supervise them ourselves.
Compliance built in, not bolted on
We plan fire stopping, emergency lighting and accessibility in from the start, and handle building control approval, plus planning permission where a new shopfront or external change needs it. Before work starts, we provide risk assessments and method statements for your landlord, managing agent or building manager. At handover you get the certificates and records for your building file.
One programme, one person to call
You get a written, itemised quote and a clear programme before work starts, one AGL site manager who runs the job day to day, and regular progress updates until handover. As principal contractor under CDM 2015, we take responsibility for running the site safely. In Soho we redesigned and refurbished a restaurant, with a new commercial kitchen, a contemporary dining room and a new frontage.
Handed over finished, backed afterwards
We snag the works and walk through them with you before handover, so you open to a finished space, not a list of loose ends. Our workmanship is guaranteed for two years, and our 24-hour WhatsApp line means you can reach us whenever your business needs us.

How it works
- 01
Brief and site visit
We visit the premises to understand how your business runs, what you need from the space and any dates you are working to, such as a lease start or a reopening. We note the building's rules, access and the trading hours we need to work around.
- 02
Quote and programme
You receive a written, itemised quote and a programme showing any out-of-hours or phased working, so you can plan the business around the works.
- 03
Approvals and pre-start
We secure building control and planning approvals where needed, provide risk assessments and method statements, and agree access, deliveries and working hours at a pre-start meeting.
- 04
Works on site
Our teams work to the agreed phasing, with work areas screened, clean and secure, and your site manager reporting progress regularly.
- 05
Snagging and handover
We snag the works, walk through them with you and hand over the certificates and records in a handover pack.
- 06
Aftercare
Our workmanship is guaranteed for two years, and the office and our 24-hour WhatsApp line are there if anything needs attention.

Questions we are often asked
Can you work around our trading hours?
Yes. AGL schedules noisy and disruptive work out of hours or at weekends, and phases larger projects so you can keep trading while we work. Work areas are kept safe, clean and secure, and separate from staff and customers.
What does a commercial fit-out include?
A commercial fit-out can include strip-out, partitions and ceilings, electrical, lighting and data, heating, ventilation and plumbing, washrooms, flooring, joinery and decoration, depending on the space and the brief. For shops and restaurants it can also include shopfronts, counters and kitchens.
What is the difference between a Cat A and a Cat B fit-out?
A Cat A fit-out brings an office up to a usable base standard, with finished ceilings, floors, lighting, power and heating, usually for a landlord between tenants. A Cat B fit-out tailors that space to a particular occupier, with partitions, meeting rooms, kitchens, data and finishes, and we can deliver either or both as one project.
Do you provide RAMS for our landlord or building manager?
Yes. Before work starts, AGL provides risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for your landlord, managing agent or building manager, and we work to the building's rules on access, deliveries and working hours.
Who manages a commercial fit-out project?
One AGL site manager runs your project from start to finish and is your day-to-day contact, with regular progress updates until handover. AGL acts as principal contractor under CDM 2015, and our own directly employed trades carry out most of the work.
Is commercial fit-out work guaranteed?
Yes. AGL guarantees its workmanship for two years from completion, and equipment and products supplied by manufacturers carry their own warranties.
