Safety is planned into every job
The health, safety and wellbeing of our people, our clients, residents and the public come first on every project. Meeting the regulations is the minimum; our aim is to go further, and to keep improving.
Principal contractor
We act as principal contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, planning, managing and monitoring the construction phase so that every trade on site works to one safe system of work.
Training and competence
Everyone on our team holds the CSCS card for their role. Our site managers and supervisors are SMSTS trained, and our teams are trained in asbestos awareness, first aid at work, working at height, manual handling and scaffold inspection, with further training specific to each trade.
On every site
Everyone who works on our sites is inducted before they start. We hold regular toolbox talks, carry out frequent site inspections and risk assessments, and keep open channels for anyone to report a concern.
Independent oversight
An external health and safety consultancy regularly audits our policies, our practices and our sites, alongside our own internal audits. It keeps our systems in step with changing legislation and industry best practice.
Always improving
We review our health and safety policy regularly, act on feedback from the people doing the work, and invest in methods and equipment that make our sites safer.
